Why Do I Always Wake Up Morning, Even After Sleeping Late and Not Installing the Alarm?


There are two types of people in this world. Those who can relax get up late, and those who still wake up early in the morning even though they have deliberately slept late at night knowing this is a day off. You always wake up early because the body has its own alarm

Simply put, the reason why you can always get up early even if you don't put an alarm is because the body already has its own alarm called the circadian rhythm.

Circadian rhythms regulate every aspect of our lives from within, especially regulating when you go and wake up following patterns of changing habits, physical, mental, behavioral, even to the conditions of your environment in a 24-hour cycle. The body's biological clock also helps regulate hormone production, body temperature, and various other bodily functions.

Sleep is a way for the body's circadian clock to reset itself automatically. The atmosphere is dim and the cold weather at night will trigger the brain to release sleepy trigger hormones namely melatonin and adenosine to indicate that it's time to sleep. Both of these hormones will continue to be produced throughout the night to keep you asleep.

Circadian rhythms work in response to changes in bright and dark light. That is why so early in the morning, the production of this sleepy hormone will begin to be braked and slowly replaced with the hormones adrenaline and cortisol. Adrenaline and cortisol are stress hormones that help you focus and be alert when you wake up in the morning. The sleepy hormone adenosine and melatonin usually stop being produced around 6-8 in the morning.

On the other hand, there are many things that can change the work of the circadian rhythm. One of the most common is increasing age. According to experts, insomnia is one of the symptoms of normal and common aging. The body's ability to sleep longer will naturally decrease with age. Therefore, even though you have deliberately slept late at night, you can still get up early. Elderly people over 65 years are especially vulnerable to this. In fact, they may have been sleepy at an earlier hour but still woke up at dawn or early in the morning.

Another reason why you always wake up early

Morning wake-up habits are generally caused by circadian rhythm work, which can then be affected by the aging process. As long as this problem is not too severe and does not interfere with your daily activities, you need not worry. However, there are a number of medical conditions that can cause you to "diligently" get up early even though you really don't want to.

1. Insomnia

Insomnia is one of the causes of your wake-up habits realized accidentally. Someone who has insomnia feels very difficult to start sleeping and / or stay asleep all night. One classic sign of insomnia is waking up too early. This is generally caused by a disruption in the production of sleepy trigger hormones, which makes it difficult for you to sleep well and even wake up in the morning. There are many risk factors that cause insomnia.

2. Anxious and depressed

Anxiety and depression disorders are mood disorders that can cause you to always get up early. Like insomnia, this mood disorder can make it difficult for you to sleep, night or morning. To overcome this cause, you may need medication or counseling with the help of a psychologist or psychiatrist.

3. Sleep apnea

Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder that causes cessation of breath during sleep due to a blocked airway. Because of this obstacle, the flow of air to the lungs is choked up, causing a person to wake up suddenly with a rage because he feels the sensation of suffocation. Sleep apnea can reduce the quality of sleep because organs, especially the brain, do not get enough oxygen. As a result, you sleep not soundly and feel tired quickly so you wake up faster the next day.
